Phyllostachys aurea
Size: 1.8m tall with 6/8 canes.
Common Name: Yellow Groove Bamboo.
Situation: Full sun/Partial shade,moist soil.
Hardiness: Hardy.
Eventual Height and Spread: 4m x 2m.
Larger sizes available.
Tall, upright bamboo with grooved, brown-yellow mature canes and golden-green leaves. This bamboo is highly recommended as it is one of the least invasive large species.
Makes an excellenttall screen or as a stand-alone specimen. Contrasts beautifully with Phyllostachys nigra - the black cane bamboo. If Phyllostachys aurea is grown in a shady situation the canes will mature green. If grown in full sun the canes will mature golden yellow
